NES Financial would like to introduce our newest Vice President of Sales, Marcelo Salas to discuss commercial real estate and fund administration. Marcelo has over 16 years of financial services and commercial real estate sales experience. Most recently, he spent two years at CREDiFi as Director of Sales, selling into the CRE space. Prior to that, Marcelo was Director of Institutional Sales at Real Capital Analytics for four years, where he focused on selling CRE transactional activity and capital flow data. Marcelo has also worked at and Oppenheimer Funds.

NES Financial: Welcome to the team Marcelo! Tell us a little more about your background.

Marcelo: I have done well serving institutional investors in the finance sector for almost two decades, previously representing well-known firms such as Real Capital Analytics, Oppenheimer Funds, S&P Capital IQ, and At my most recent position with CRE start-up CREDiFi, I helped them build their U.S.-based sales organization and onboard their first clients. At Real Capital Analytics, I brought on an enviable roster of institutional capital managers like KKR, Apollo, AllianceBernstein, Centerbridge Partner, and NY Life Investments to name a few. I am a graduate of Lehigh University with a BA in political science and a lifelong passion for the world of finance and investment.

NES Financial: What made you want to join NES Financial?

Marcelo: NES Financial has developed successful solutions in very challenging environments. Tackling the hardest pockets of the fund administration world, NES Financial has succeeded where most have not. I was impressed with their accomplishments and the fact that the team is continuing to push forward new innovations that can disrupt the market. And as a real estate investor for the past 10 years, I recognize first-hand the benefits that technology solutions provide investors in today’s world, and I look forward to communicating the benefits that NES Financial has to offer.

NES Financial: What do you like most about NES Financial’s services?

Marcelo: I like that the company, even while successful, is innovating further into the fund administration world and challenging the status quo of the largest players in the space.

NES Financial: From a commercial real estate perspective, how do you think NES Financial’s solutions benefit the industry?

Marcelo: CRE investors, both debt and equity, face a very competitive market where sourcing deals and meeting performance expectations are getting harder as we progress in the current cycle. NES Financial brings to the table technological innovation that takes the pain out of back office fund administration, planning and execution of capital raising solutions like EB-5, and managing tax deferral strategies, like 1031 exchanges. All three of these areas consume CRE investors’ time, energy, and margins. The commercial real estate market is in need of fund administration solutions that focus on and address CRE specific demands.
